About Us

Re-Proof is based in Snoqualmie, WA and home to an average of 60 inches of rain per year. We're no strangers to wet weather, and we know firsthand how soaked gear can turn a good day into a sufferfest.

We've been Re-Proofing our friends gloves and jackets for years. But the idea for Re-Proof was born as we were busy prepping rain gear and hiking boots for a rainy trip to Alaska. We had so many other things on our to-do list and thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if we could just pay someone to do this?" Well, now you can!

We Clean and Re-Proof Your Gear

Once we receive your gear, we'll start the Re-Proof process within 24 hours. Our goal is to have your gear back on its way to you within 72 hours of receiving it.

We start with an initial gear evaluation to make sure your gear is in good condition for a Re-Proof. While we're confident we can Re-Proof most gear, sometimes old or damaged gear just might not be the best fit. If that's the case we will always ship back your gear and refund all costs.

Next we'll clean or wash your gear to lay the foundation for a good Re-Proof. We always clean according to the manufacturer's recommendations for your gear.

Then the Re-Proof begins! We use PFC-free, water-based re-proofing to keep you dry while protecting our environment. Once the Re-Proof is finished setting, we pack everything up and mail it back to you good as new!

We Send Your Gear Back Like New

We ship your gear back to you. Shipping is paid for at time of your purchase. All Re-Proof orders over $50 receive free shipping (excluding rush items).

FAQs

Can't I Just Do This Myself?

Yes! That's how Re-Proof was born. We were busy re-proofing our gear for a rainy trip to Alaska when we realized how time intensive the re-proof process can be.

So, while you can definitely re-proof gear yourself. Sometimes it's just easier to let someone else help you.

How long does Re-Proof last?

It depends a little on how hard you use your gear! If you're out standing under waterfalls all day, you might need to re-proof a couple of times per season.

But for the rest of us, Re-Proof should last through the season, or longer. At a minimum, I wash and Re-Proof my gear every year to keep it in good shape.

Is Re-Proof Eco Friendly?

Yes! We use Nikwax products for all of our Re-Proofs because they are PFC, PFAS, and PFOA free.

In addition, we consider it to be much more environmentall friendly to Re-Proof your gear and maintain it for as long as possible, rather than tossing it and to buy new gear.
